Business Analyst
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The successful candidate will conduct and/or assist with evaluations of Cortez life-of-mine strategy within a regional context, assist with multi-departmental coordination and development of mine planning activities and resource-level plans, and be experienced in economic evaluations. The position is expected to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, be able to perform self-directed work, and demonstrate a wide-ranging understanding of the technical and business elements of an active mining operation. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills and be able to generate written reports and prepare presentations summarizing work. The position is expected to develop and maintain close working relationships with open pit, underground, process, and exploration in the evaluation of current and future mining activities and/or projects. Candidate must possess excellent analytical skills and track the mine's performance as compared to the business plan. Assistance with financial evaluation of special projects and other duties as assigned
SELECTION CRITERIA
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mining engineering, geology, metallurgy or related field (required)
Master's in Business Administration or related field (preferred)
Experience with mine planning and/or metal planning (preferred)
Minimum of five (5) years experience in mining industry, including time at an active operation (required)
Experience with Vulcan, Deswik or similar mine planning/scheduling software (required) and experience with Minemax software (preferred)
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing (required)
Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills (required)
Experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment required
Skilled in basic computer technologies such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Oracle, and report writing is required
Excellent safety record with ability to demonstrate safety leadership (required)
